My favourite perfumes

niamhdouglas

Hi everyone,

I thought I would do a fun blog post today and share with you all my favourite perfumes! I love perfume so much!!! It is one of my all time favourite things. I wouldn't say I am the best at describing very well what each of them smell like when it comes to the notes in them and what have you but I will give it my best shot! I will also include a bit about the scent that comes directly from the website as it may help to better express them than me just saying what I think about them!

I could talk about perfume forever! I am a bit of a junkie when it comes to new scents! So here goes, lets break down my favourites :D

1. Glossier 'You'

I got this perfume as a really lovely gift from my sister for Christmas. The bottle is so cool and very different and unique. It has a little dent in the bottle specifically for putting your thumb in so that you can nicely place the fragrance in your hand for optimum spraying performance. It smells very clean and fresh, it gives you that just out of the shower scent on a permanent basis which is a bonus! It is not too strong or overpowering. It is just right and has a nice level of fragrance for a day to day basis. I also read that this perfume wears evenly so the way it smells when you first spray it will be how it will smell throughout the day. Glossier themselves say that 'you' is 'an addictive musk scent that adapts to your unique skin chemistry'. This perfume only comes in a 50ml option and is priced at £45.

2. Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh

Not only does the bottle of this perfume look beautiful but it also smells divine. It smells exactly how the name suggests.. fresh!! It simply smells like you are waking through a garden filled with fresh flowers on a spring/summer day. It smells very clean and flowery. I think I got mine from the website fragrance direct and this is what they have to say about the perfume. 'A fun, floral and youthful fragrance', 'essential spring perfume for women'. I think that I may have the 75ml of this fragrance and there is a lot of it. It is definitely good value for money! On fragrance direct the 75ml is priced at £52.99 and there is already a saving on this but if you are a student you are able to get a discount! What a bonus!

3. Chanel No 5

I love this perfume so much. It is such a classic! I would say that it is a very mature and womanly scent. The bottle also looks so beautiful and sophisticated too. The fragrance shop says that this fragrance is 'the very essence of femininity. A powdery floral bouquet housed in an iconic bottle with a minimalist design. A timeless, legendary fragrance'. Chanel No 5 also has such a lovely history to go with it. It was the first perfume released by Coco Chanel in 1921 and was of course one of Marilyn Monroe's favourites. "What do I wear in bed? Why, Chanel No 5, of course". I have the 35ml bottle which is sold at £56.50.

4. YSL Black Opium

I think this one might actually be my favourite! It has a very deep, dark scent and smells like berries. I think it is a perfume perfectly suited to evening wear and would also be great for special occasions. However, you can definitely wear it whenever you like! The fragrance shop says that this fragrance is 'the rock n roll glam-rock fragrance that is full of mystery and energy. An addictive gourmand floral with notes of black coffee for a shot of adrenaline, followed by white florals to instantly seduce, and vanilla for ultimate sweetness and sensuality'. It sounds perfect doesn't it! I have the 30ml of this fragrance and it is priced at £53.50.

5. Tom Daxon Laconia

Last but by no means least, this perfume is gorgeous in every possible way! I discovered Tom Daxon perfumes through one of my favourite fashion bloggers and I really loved the look of it so I asked for it for my birthday. Tom Daxon fragrances are really special and I discovered that it was knowledge passed on from mother to son! Laconia simply smells like you are walking along the beach. It is the most divine, gentle fragrance I have ever had! It is described as a 'vibrant sea breeze citrus' and this is the most perfect way to describe it. It is a little bit more expensive as they start in 50ml which is sold at £105 but I definitely think that it is worth it!

Thank you everyone for reading,

Niamh x
