Hi everyone!
I wanted to do another blog post today all about an album that Bugzy Malone released in 2018 called B.Inspired. Bugzy Malone is a British rapper and actor and he really stands out to me for many reasons! I had heard a song by him in the past which I really liked but I never realised how much I actually liked his music until he released a new song called 'December' at the end of last year. This track is amazing and has a great beat to it. It is so catchy and it is the kind of song that I don't think I could get bored of. Rap and grime music is not to everybody's taste but for me, Bugzy Malone takes a step past just music and really promotes such strong, powerful messages through his lyrics. Particularly in his song 'December' he discusses being an ex member of a gang and how much better his life is now that he is away from this lifestyle. He talks about how now he has 'trainers in JD but he used to be criminal'. To me, this speaks a lot of truth. He is trying to show that you can achieve your dreams, you can be who you want to be without being involved with dangerous groups in society. It is a struggle that many young people may face in their life and this song talking about such issues could be a real turning point for any young people listening. This is why I think that no matter what has happened in his past life, he has turned his life around and is doing amazing for himself and this is the kind of role model that young people need when there is a fear that they could take detrimental paths in their lives.
B.Inspired is such a cool album, I really love it! All of the songs are really catchy! Some have club beats behind them and some are a bit more deep and meaningful such as the song B.Inspired. In this song Bugzy Malone talks about his battle with depression and he says 'please believe me you can beat depression'. He also repeats throughout the song 'be inspired'. For me, this speaks a thousand words. He is talking about how he has been in bad places in his life but even when things seemed impossible he got there and he made things possible again. I think he is sending out such a great message to so many people, even me. He discusses how we all 'get tired'. Yet if we see it and believe it anything can be possible. That goes for anything, no matter your situation and I think it is amazing to be so open and honest with mental health struggles as it can help others.
Also, some of my favourite tracks from the album have to be 'Warning', 'Drama', 'Run', 'Separation', 'Come Through' and 'Death do us part'. That one in particular is such a lovely song. He discusses his now fiancée and how she has always been there for him no matter what. The song begins by saying 'I love you, I love you, not just love you, I trust you'. I think that these lyrics are so meaningful and shows just how much he appreciates her which is a really lovely thing and sends out such a positive message.
Give the album a listen, it is great!
I hope you have enjoyed this blog post guys,
Niamh x
